Combat fishing

Is this current do-able in a kayak?

Definitely doable.  If you fish the ocean, this should be a piece of cake.

That is the discharge from the Afterbay.  I've skirted around on the east side several times on river floats.  It's definitely a heads-up situation.  It has taken a few lives, both from boats and the shore.  And then there are the shore fishermen that aim for the boaters.  Not a very courteous group.  Wont get out of the way of someone with a fish on.  Good place to avoid.

Why?
There are SOOOOOO many other opportunities out there. why waste time there?
Combat fishing is about the most unenjoyable fishing I can think of.
And yea, those dicks will try to hit or snag ya.

That's not nearly as bad as Pacifica Pier.

River salmon are super fun, and fight harder than saltwater salmon since they can use current to their advantage.

Lol ... not planning on it, just curious.  If I want to do combat fishing, I would just go to the Santa Cruz jetty during a run (which by the way, is the run still there?)

not sure - salmon is closed down there so you probably won't find any reports.
