Fishing Near Redding?

My buddy Motorhead is going to Redding next week.  Wondering about any good fishing up there?
He may or may not have a yak with him but if so, he's a newbie on da yak.

any trout streams or spots nearby?  Are salmon up there yet (prolly no, yes....no)

Upper Sac. Great trout resource.

Whiskey town Lake.  Big kokes by and under the 299 bridge.  Trouts near the pump house too.
