I tried Bodega last year, but no Halibut...
I know mickfish try here alot, but he said nothing last year.
We catch small ones on beach seine, so they're gotta be there, but I don't know...

I gave Bodega 4 or 5 tries last year for 1 shortie. I think it was a bad year for buttes. Normally the two most productive areas are drifting from the green can off Tomales to the bar at the mouth don't get too close to the bar unless you know what you are doing and it can be sharky. The other is starting about a mile north of Hog Island drift back to the Island along the channel edges. I have also caught some off the rock, drifting the harbor entrance and trolling Doran Beach in 6-12' of water check for weeds constantly its a pain but its weedy. I know a couple of guys that fish a PB for buttes a lot 2 or 3 times a week as soon as they start catching I will post.

I've caught plenty from the Marshal area with a PB. Never tried the yak there. On calm days it would be great, but be careful, that bay gets whipped to a froth in a matter of minutes sometimes. Sideways white caps all the way back to the launch. Best to fish it during fogging days, and get off the water as the fog clears... It's too early yet. The SF bay always starts ahead of Tomales.

If your going for sharks a way to test if there's sharks in the water is to stick your finger in the water and and taste it. If it's salty there's sharks. So I've heard never seen one myself. 😜😂
