Jim Sammons called me and PAL asked if he could join us and help put us nortenos on the fish...we said YES!!!  Jim and his famly had also made very generous contributions to the Chef fund so it was a perfect fit.  Welcome Jim, and thanks for joining us.

Great news, and welcome aboard, Jim.

Bill and I hope to head down Friday midday, and will be staying near the Fishermans Landing at the Dolphin Motel

We plan on hitting La Jolla or elsewhere Saturday and Sunday, so are looking for company and guides  :smt001

Anyone else making similar plans?

Welcome aboard Jim.

I was hoping to head down to LA thursday night and stay over night at my brother's and hit SD the next morning for some friday fishing. I've been insanely buried at work so I haven't been able to make reservations for anything yet. Anyone want to hook up for the drive down? We can either drive down thursday night with a stop in LA or head down friday morning. Both Work for me. I will be driving back on the afternoon of the 6th.

As of right now looking for a passenger and someone to share a room with. I'm going to try to get a reservation tommorrow for the dolphin-motel. We should maybe ask for a group rate?

Sweet! It will be a pleasure meeting you, Jim, and the rest of the crew I have yet to meet.

I'm coming down on Saturday and hope to be able to get out Sunday morning.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

great, Jim's coming  :smt011 Now, I'll have to clean my kayak for sure  :smt013

Uncle Jim gave me crap for not "cleaning my kayak" during the Fred Hall Show......I kept telling him that the dirt, mud and blood shows "Character"....of course, he didn't buy it  :smt011

Should have explained the chemical/toxification/sewer plant discharginess/sludginess make-up of Bay Mud......a sandblaster couldn't get that stuff off.
..........agarcia is just an ex-kayaker

Rumor has it I might be getting a shiney new boat so I won't have to worry about cleaning it for the trip. But then again it would be nice to have a bloody deck to show off.

I am stoked to be joining you guys on this trip. San Clemente Island is one of my favorite places on earth.
I know all you guys are all pumped to get yellows, but one of my favorite things to do at the island is fish the Calico's in the rocks and heavy kelp. So bring your calcutta's and plenty of plastics. Another fun one is to toss live bait into the boilers and kelp, you may get a calico you may get a White Seabass. You need rods with plenty of backbone to pull these fish out of their homes.
If you want to get the tails you will want a live bait trolling rod and a rod for tossing iron. IF you don't have a live bait tank then make yourself a bait tube.
I am coming on this trip to help, so please don't hesitate to ask.

Are you going "Hollywood" like the Mooch and getting sponsored?  :)

Sean & PAL - you need to make this an annual trip.  I'm bummed I'm missing it...
