Ok starting a knew thread here  i think i got it figured out but i would like a little help from the pro paddlers :) i googled and came up with this but i cant find a kayak height info mine is 30" wide and about 12" high. Im 5'11" and real wide shoulder im a big boy  and this is what i got with the chart info.  So im thinking a 240cm camano werner should be a good choice dont want to fork out that kind of money if im making the wrong choice.  Any info will be helpful.

The Camano is a great paddle. I currently use the Shuna in carbon. Light. Durable. High quality.

I am 6'2" and on my 28" wide Tarpon I use a 220 and also a 230 high angle paddle. If I was using low angle paddle I would probably use a 240. On my 34" wide kayak I use a 240 that extends to 245 or so. It works fine. I would need a longer paddle if I was more low angle. Also on  high/raised seat add 10.

Thanks racinrob! Mine sets low when i measured it was 12" high to top of yak but the set is lower. So you think 220 is better choice?

Maybe I'm wrong here but it seems there isn't a right or wrong way. There are guides to help select what would be the best use for you, however everyone has to go with what works best for them. I'm 5'7 have a 29" wide kayak with a seat as low as yours and use a 230, but I paddle high angle. The same paddle worked just fine for my 34" wide high seat kayak; its not ideal, but it worked just fine.

Ok i was going to bump up to 240 but i think i may stay at 230 so far the paddle seems to work i havent had a problem with it i seem to get around well and pretty fast.     Ok hold on i think i like to paddle low but i have noticed sometimes i dont dig in deep enough so i go higher and dig in better.   So mabey just mabey i need a 240?

I think this is your best clue.  I would say go longer if that's the case.  I like to sort of lean forward and paddle like mad for surf launch, so my grip is closer toward the ends for power and speed.  For me, that means my whole paddle will dig just slightly below the surface.  Mine is a 220, but I would say you have to go with what you feel is correct.  Missing a dig means you probably should go longer in my opinion.  I have the Aqua Carbon Sting Ray Carbon and it works for me.  I've used that paddle to push off on sands and rocks, just minimal scratch so far.  I don't use my paddle for long distance, I have a pedal for that.

You're a pretty big guy, I would say the weight of the paddle probably doesn't affect you much.  I think a 230 might be a safe bet, a 240 would be either work great or a miss.
