Well, probably shoulda been in the yak, but the "dry butt fishing" was excellent.  Warren leaves out the part of his 64ish incher- he thought it was a ray since it was coming so quickly in- RIGHT at the boat- i mean like 2 feet off the back, the thing jumps clear out of the water- nearly into the boat, and takes off...

Good call Steve... I really was considering one last SPB dino hunt on Saturday as well... it was a good tide for the flats outside of Black Point.

we were inbetween bouy 5 and pumphouse (about a mile or so south of the PH) in about 14 feet. It was yakable distance- though i would likely launch from mcnears rather than china camp.  There's a little crease in the bottom that we eased into-- you can see it on the charts. I'll see if i can get the #s

it was a great day, we talked about if weather cooperated the night before, then decided to launch at about 7:30am. Lines in by 8:30ish.  Not bad for last minute.
