Hi All,

I suffer from sea-sickness...

That sucks. I hope that you find relief.
Hi I have a seasickness issue "weird group therapy sessions", I find I feel way better after a good up chuck!
Normally I don't eat before I go or during an ocean trip but recently decided to have a bagel with cream cheese before heading to the launch 45 minutes away. No issues at all felt fine all day.
Why not go big?  Like two egg McMuffins, hash browns and coffee?  I guess that kind of ties into the other thread on duecing at sea, but hell, I'm with you.  Puking something is better than puking nothing!

I have a buddy who has successfully used the technique mentioned in this article to overcome his at times severe motion sickness:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.seeker.com/amphtml/nasa-mind-training-tackles-motion-sickness-discovery-news-1766490924.html

This.  If you are afraid about getting sick before you launch, you're already halfway to being sick (at least for me anyway).  Try to tie in your balance against something that you constantly do.  For me, I would keep moving and the feeling will go away.  I don't usually get sick, but if feel it coming, that's what I do.  For example, if I am feeling sick, even a 2-4 swell will do the job.  However, if I keep moving, a 4-8 swell would be easy peasy and the motion sickness will go away  :smt102
on the other hand, i throw up often walking down the beach.  not sure why, even with positive thinking.  pretty much as soon as the smell of the bird shit hits me, I'm hurling.  then i'm fine for about 2 hours, then throw up every hour on the hour.  its just the way it goes.  I try to stay hydrated, but can't drink plain water, it makes me feel worse.  gatorade helps and so does chewing gum, minty flavor.

I heard some people get their sea legs from multiple days out at sea vomiting until you get used to it.... sort of the "work it out" method.  Say this works, then you go back to being a land dweller for a few weeks, then go back out in big swell.  Are you less prone to seasickness?  All I need is a willing doctor with available IV fluids to agree to take me out for 3 days in high seas to give it a try.   Puke therapy!! :smt078 :smt118
