We arrived at Caspar Wed. evening to decreasing winds and a churned up ocean, overnight it layed down enough for us to have a good ab dive a little south of Mendocino. Limits for 5 guys, mostly 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 inchers. After having an abalone feast at Caspar beach RV park we launched two kayaks into Caspar cove and set 3 crab pots, my friend Curtis dove and hunted for fish, he saw a couple of lings but did not shoot. The rain started at about 5:00 pm but it cleared overnight and we dove Friday morning in bright sunshine and great visibility. 15' in some areas. Curtis shot some fish and we got some more abs. We checked the pots after diving and had 5 dungeness in the pot closer to the middle of the cove and rock crabs on the pots to the south side. My son and I had fun kayak surfing in the cove.

OMG, what a couple days you guys had! I've been to Caspar to watch the action on the water but didn't realize the richness of the UNDERwater action! Way to go!

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.
