As some may already know, I recently acquired a mega-drive 180. Being a paddler, my first thoughts were to simply sell the drive, but then I thought, it might be a good idea to have a peddle yak in the fleet. So here is my question.
I'm looking at the advantages and disadvantages between the outback, and the revo-13/16.
I already know most will say the Revo is tippy, but most that tell me this are coming from an outback. I however will be coming from a O.K. Ultra 4.7.
How will these compare to what I paddle now?
Will be used for offshore at the cove 99% of the time.
Also (in case you didn't know) I'm 6'2" and 250lbs of sexy fisherman.

You need to just try both.  I always have people telling me I should have got the revo but the outback does everything I need. I almost always dive off of it and don't care to much about speed as stability is more important to me.  The outback is not great in surf as it has a tendency to pick it up and turn it on me.  I am also a big guy so being a top heavy Webble Wobble probably doesn't help.

My vote will be on Revo 16. It tracks better than my old Revo 13 and it's fast! The more experienced I get as a kayaker, the less I care about a kayak's stability and more on what a kayak can offer me. I also have a 2015 outback (wife's) which I've never been on so I can't compare. At the end of the day, I'm less tired using less effort. Hope that helps

Revo

I have the 4.7 and went to the Revo.  I feel good in the redo.  I did not feel good in the Adventure 16 and I think the Revo 16 is the same hull,  right?

A lot of people have stability issues with the Revo 16 but I loved mine. I do like the Revo 13 better

Why not see if Jim has any G-2s left.  A G-2 with that drive would be awesome.

I have only fished from a Revo13 only once and have fished primarily from an Outback and AI.  I'm hoping to add a Revo13 to my collection soon!  I like it because it pedals better than my Outback and it's faster...but I need both in my life.
