Has anybody kayaked ahjumawi lava springs state park?  I am thinking of taking my wife there in a couple of weeks.  I have read that the water is shallow and weedy.  Would a mirage drive make it through there?
"Pedo Viejo" is what Antonio called me.

I've kayak camped there several times.  (with Mirage Drive Hobies)  Launch at Rat Farm, peddle to the northwest to the boat to campsites.  The springs are a short peddle further west.  Heads up on the mosquito issue.  Tents and repellant are a must.  As to shallow and weedy, just pay attention to where you a headed and you can avoid the shallow areas.  Bring ear plugs.  The first time I camped there, the nearby farms had their Zon-Guns going off randomly every 5 to 10 minutes to scare birds and deer out of their fields.  (Zon-Guns use propane to make loud bangs.)

A must: take your mosquito repellent, Deets preferred, as this place is loaded with these little bastards. Take along a camera (big zoom helps here) as there are lots of birds, waterfowl, raptors, and other critters to see. Stop off at Lake Britton on way up or coming back..nice place to paddle. They also have rental cabins at the Park which are very nice.
