Driving home down 101 from Ukiah on friday, I spied several substantial holes on the Russian River.

Is there any fishing on it still?  Will there be any the week of May 14?

Short of the Russian, is there any other game in town the week of May 14?

Thinking about Mendo or any of the other area lakes.

thx,

The river has a lot of smallies, no bait and barbless hooks only. If you catch any trout let them go they are steelhead smolts headed back to the ocean. Lake Sonoma and mendo should still be fising good.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

I am going to Mendo on the 12th for the tourney. Since the likelihood of a Bendo 3 has diminished, this might be my chance to wash off the Bendo 2 skunk once and for all.

Has anyone posted updated info on the tourney? Its getting close and I only knwo the date and the lake--nothing more at this point.

The river is over that time of year, but the lake can be excellent.
