I am still in for 8/1 and maybe 7/31 also if the conditions are good. Will try to find a spot at Mill Creek if I fish both days. If you want to do a shore lunch, let me know and I can bring the stuff to make a "martini ling cod".

... Etienne parked on the highway last time but with 30-40lbs of fish in his yak, I am not sure how he pulled it up the hill. It kicked my butt just wheeling my yak and fish from the beach back to the day use area, but he is a younger man than I

Sackyak (Etienne) is not just young, I think he is a testament to the physical benefits of hacky sack.  I agree, I've seen him drag his yak up steep beaches that had me thinking about defibrillators

Cool Scott. What is a Martini ling cod. ????? I think if you're around two days, I would really like to try Mill Creek one day. I would love to find Chef's reef down there. Looking forward to it.
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

A pan seared ling fillet marinated in a martini served with olives. Muy bueno, shaken not stirred. My cell coverage is really bad in Cambria but look for me on 7/31 at 6AM at the Limekiln. The other thing to consider is to make the long paddle to Lopez. I don't know where the Mill Creek Chef's Kitchen is but I will ask around. I will probably camp at Mill on 7/31.

This thread has been running for a while. Who are in for these days? Is there one camping spot left for me at Aug-1 night? I'd like to join you at Aug-1 & 2. Of course, when the condition permits.

Let me know and look forward to meeting you.

I'm in 7/31 and 8/1. Will try to find a campsite at Mill or Limekiln on 7/31 if not sleep in my car.

BTW I wll have a Malibu 2 XL with me with me which I will not be using. If someone wants to use it they are welcome. Have the paddles and PFD's just need a wetsuit, license and tackle. It is rigged for fishing. PM me if you would like to use it.

I don't believe I have met anyone on this thread in person yet, but I plan to be down at Limekiln and Mill Creek mid morning on Mon thru Wed evening.

Would love to fish with some company, it was pretty hairy last time I launched at Mill. I will try and find myself a campsite at one of these two places, if available, and will gladly share room.

I drive a tan Toyota truck and paddle a Mango-ish Tarpon 140. Looking forward to meeting some more NCKA folks

Didn't I meet you and your bro on del valle the day the cops were hassling you? Anyway, 7/31 @ 6 AM at Limekiln. I will be paddling a yellow P15 with my screen name on it. Let's hook up.

Yeah Scott, I remember that day! Were you also at the Fred Hall show at the Cow Palace?

7/31 at 6 am sounds good, however...
right now I am wavering between Sur, as planned, or Shelter Cove, where I may have a job interview scheduled nearby. I should have definitive word tonight- and will post.

Also, I called reserveamerica and was informed that there are no available campsites. I beliive there are some first come, first serve sites at Limekilm and Kirk Creek. Is there a Mill Creek campground?

I slept in the car the last two trips on Nacimiento Road. This time I was hoping to hang out near a campfire with an IPA in one hand and a fish taco in the other.

Ark - can you make it? I thought you don't have time off.
I will look for your guys during Aug-1 & 2 in Limekiln and Mill Creek campsites.

Yeah, I was at theshow with my wife. Mill Creek has a campground a few yards north of the launch. No reservations. If I can't find a campground, I will probably park on Hwy 1 just outside the Milll Creek campground. I will have an IPA chilled if you make it. I will have the 2 yellow yaks on my roof.

The campground just north of Mill Ck is called Kirk Creek campground. Its first come-first serve. Limekiln is all booked up. There is another first-come campground about 5 miles south of Mill Ck called Plaskett Creek too.

Good luck guys!
