I recently I picked a Pro Angler 12 and it came with a trailer. I was wondering if I don't use the ramp to launch my kayak do I still need to pay to hand launch my kayak. I'm scared since I have to park my truck in the trailered areas. Anybody have any insight on what I should do?

Not sure about all places but Berryessa and other lakes charge extra if it's trailered as opposed to car topped/in the pick up bed/etc

Where are you referring to? It's going to be different wherever you go.

Any reason you couldn't just get some racks and throw it on the roof of your car?

If the only spot you'll fit in is a trailer spot (reserved for those paying to launch boats) they're probably going to make you pay for it.

This has been my experience as well.

yeah, in my experience you're really paying for the second parking spot.

I have a PA14 and I just use the boonedox t-bone to load it in my Tundra with a 6.5 bed. Works great and you can just take the t-bone and throw it in your truck and park in the regular parking.

I picked up a pro angler 12 and it came with a trailer. It's a lot heavier than my revo which I usually loaded on to my truck rack. I went to oyster point and paid the launch fee but i'm still doing my pros and cons with it. It's nice to throw on the trailer in the morning and i'm gone, but not sure if it's worth the launch fee every trip.

Oak shores at Berryessa is free but they will not let you in with a trailer if there's a guard at the gate - and chase you out if they find you later.  I use the Boondox-T bone with my truck (6 ft bed) for my PA 12. It works well. I actually pull it back so the end of the PA's skeg rests over the t-bone.

Launch fee, extra bridge toll fee, and being limited to 55mph on the freeway are the reasons why I would never trailer a kayak

Back problem vs $$$
I would go trailer unless you always have a buddy to fish with and help you load n unload.

Are they really selling them with trailers now?

I'm guessing he got it used and the the seller included the trailer that was most likely acquired seperately. Would be nice though if Hobie threw in a trailer or bed extender :)

Capell Cove is free launch too, but people always worry about break-in there... although I've never had problem (knock on wood)...

No I don't sorry, I launch at Steele Park and it's less than $10.
