Just moved in to a house with a 2 car garage. Fiance and I both drive a car.  Both cars fit with the small storage rack installed orrrrr.....i can opt to make it a one car garage with my kayak stored inside with a work bench and deal with dew, dusty windows and/or super hot car seats every day.  Her car is staying inside no matter what.

Any thoughts?

Cars can live outside. Would much rather have a space to do projects, store and organize your gear.

My car saw the garage for part of the first year after we moved in. Now it would take some serious reorganizing just to get it in -- tools, toys and other assorted gear have taken over, but I wouldn't trade it. Having a space to work totally outweighs the negatives of keeping the car outside.

Cheers,
Brad

I prefer work benches/ storage /tools/fridge.... only car that sits in the garage would be a project itself...

This is exactly how we roll; with the exception that my truck won't fit inside no matter what.

I cant get my truck down the driveway to the garage (only 7 foot wide, but with gate even narrower) so it is storage , yak rack , and work space. Wife usually stays out of it.

I'm going through a similar thing right now. Moving into a place with a 1 car garage and the wife "has to have her car in garage".

Therefore, I'm getting creative. Garage is 20' x 13', car is 16' x 6'. I'm working on a fold up/drop down work bench, 18' shelves and gonna play tetris with the freezer and a bunch of my other crap. The workbench may drop down and sit right above the freezer. We'll see...
