Striper Skunk (Leopard Vid added)

Some recent reports got me fired up so I tried the surf yesterday after work.

First spot was way too rough to dive so went to a calmer area where I have heard people have been getting some...

Tried in close where I usually hunt, and out further but no luck and no stripers seen...

Lot of bait schools of various kinds...

Got to play with a friendly leopard shark in shallow...he let me pet him with my spear tip!  Will see if footage turned out cool...

Found a lure snagged on the bottom on the way in and brought it home...hooks are rusted but besides that looks good.

Was still fun to get in the water!!

Was fired up cuz forecast for my plan A spot was good...was way off though...all white water and howling wind...

I'll hit it again next window though...I think it's gonna be a good year for stripers.

We're at is this

Striper fishing from shore has started great through out the Monterey bay from the surf. Some keepers to an occasional larger one.

Here's a pic of the lure I found and the footage of the cute little Leopard...friendly kitty!!

Just heard there are nice baitballs by the wharf. Theres gotta be striper and halis around. Ill take that lure next time I see you.
