I got my new used 2016 Revo 13 and want to start rigging , been reading  and got few pearls of wisdom from posts . Excuse my questions if they seem /are obvious or redundant.

1. leashing the drive , where , so not to tangle it ?

2. switch out the mesh side pouches for rubber as not to snag hooks ?

3, battery box . rear hatch or use the center hatch ..preference  more than likely , ease of access etc etc

4. mounting FF/GPS  notice some mount in the center where the mast would go , assuming this depends on screen size and good eyes sight with long arms lol

5. and lastly storage and rod holder ideas ?

6. pics would be awesome ( already found some on compass install OB and G-Whiz)

Thanks in advance, Vic

Do yourself a favor and go to NWKA ,check out how pmmpete has rigged his.  There's lots of good ideas in there, but he is mostly a montana lake fisherman so it doesn't all translate to us on the coast.

I have about 3.5' of gear tracks on mine, I can put whatever I want wherever I want it.  I like that because I use the revo mostly for ocean and big lakes.  I can mount a flag, light, downrigger, FF, two rods, etc. and move them as needed.  I mostly use ram mounts but I go back and forth with ram and scotty.

1.  I don't leash it while underway.  It has locks to keep it from dumping over.  When landing I pull it and slide one of the pedals under the bungee on the deck.  I'm not reallysure what that bungee is there for if not for leashing the drive.

2.  Someone, don't remember where, put both of the pockets on the same side.  I've thought about doing that.

3.  I've settled on the front hatch for the battery, the center hatch has a deep gear bucket, and the back hatch doesn't have anything in it.  I've tried the battery in all three places and the front hatch is just better.  You can mount it on the post that holds the mast with a hobie battery keeper or a dollar store basket and some zip ties.

4.  I keep the FF on the left on a gear track.  You can put it in the mast post with a wedge mount but its kinda far away there.  You can also use an articulating arm on a scotty or ram mount and have it over the side so its even more out of the way, but I don't really like that idea personally.

5.  storage on the boat?  use the hatches and go minimalistic.  there isn't even a good place to haul a crab pot.  The rear well will hold stuff like a stringer clip, cooler, wood shampoo, water bottle, burlap sack, etc.  Just know that there isn't a whole lot of room on this boat.

5a.  storage of the boat?  In the garage on a rack?

5b. rod holders?  There are flush mounts in the back, I put rod holders on the gear tracks, and for a surf landing you can get rod holders that protect the tips of the rods.  I've been looking at them, probably will be my next purchase.

6.  Now you're just talking crazy.  No pics.

Thanks OB ..

5a.  storage of the boat?  In the garage on a rack?  LOL should have clarified, got this covered , meant on the kayak specifically   :smt002

6.  yeah I knew but hey ..someone might bite  :smt044

speaking of storage, yep not a whole lot ..got spoiled on my OK T-13 :smt003

Anyway pretty much what I figured , just thought I'd put it out there never know what little gem or two might be found .

So this is how mine is rigged.im using the mast mount cause I didn't want to drill holes for the wires.also I leash my drive to the mast mount.the battery input in a deep gear bucket in the rear hatch and 4" tracks in the front.as for storage I use a crate.two 3 rod holders are mounted to the crate.if your gonna use two rod holders one has to be higher then the other otherwise it won't fit
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

The reason why I went with this route is so I can strip it down completely when transporting.i car top mine ,so I want a flat hull without anything sticking up. I like to chase lmb so I need the crate for gear.

I recently reinstalled a ff on my revo 13 and i like using the mast mount because there is no drilling required and the cables can go under the front hatch, again, no drilling. Did the transducer/goop thru hull install as well, positioned the transducer donut directly behind the mirage drive, just out of the way of the center hatch. I use a diving mask case to hold my battery and zip tie it to the mast, it stays put pretty well and leaves a little room for more cargo
As for rod holders, I like using the flush mount rod holders while trolling and I use a crate mounted rod holder to hold my landing net, this make it a lot easier and faster to grab when you really need it. good luck!

Get the Hobie battery holder accessory and put the battery in the rear hatch.  It isn't practical for storage of much else.  I used a ram mount inside of one of the side pockets for the FF.  It gets it close enough to see and operate the buttons without stretching to the front.  I keep my mirage drive tethered all of the time.  I use a Hobie leash thats attached to the adjustment holes on the drive  and clips to the pad eye that holds the bungie hook for securing the pedals forward.  It has never gotten tangled and eliminates the possibility of a $500 + loss.

Hope this helps.

1. leashing the drive , where , so not to tangle it ?
Some people install new padeyes to clip the drive, but I clip it to the eye that is right by the center hatch.

2. switch out the mesh side pouches for rubber as not to snag hooks ?
I've never had this issue but I know other people have.  I did buy the rubber ones however I've been too lazy to install them.   :smt005

3, battery box . rear hatch or use the center hatch ..preference  more than likely , ease of access etc etc
Mienboy's setup is great.

4. mounting FF/GPS  notice some mount in the center where the mast would go , assuming this depends on screen size and good eyes sight with long arms lol
I use the ram ball wedge meant for the mast or scotty mounts.  When I don't need to fiddle with it much, I set it up on the mast.  When I fiddle with it, I put it on the scotty mount on my left side.

5. and lastly storage and rod holder ideas ?
Not much storage like OB said.  I usually put everything in front hatch tub I made or carry a plano tackle box with rod holders.
If you ain't first, you're last.

I really dig the 4" tracks there, looks very useful!  Cool use of the rear bucket as well  :smt002  Makes me want to do some pimping!  :smt003

Leashing the drive: I found a short strong coiled leash and added a pad eye directly in front of the drive (on the vertical section of the hull under the mast mount).

Sure as sure can be, the latches will find a way to spring open in a rollover caused by snagging the fins in kelp.  DAMHIK.

I mounted an Elite-4 on the long RAM arm onto a one inch ball attached to the bottom of the port map pocket - port because I re-enter on the starboard side.  The mesh pocket holds the cables securely when transporting it.

I don't use rod holders.  I use the paddle holder and a PVC coupling mounted on the bow to store the rod when launching and landing.  I find it easier to strap a rod to the side than tuck it in through the hatch, and I can carry it assembled.

1) I only do while launching/landing. I leash it to the ball mount in the sail mast.
2) No because I'm cheap. I've also not had any problems with hooks stuck there.
3)Front hatch to balance the weight a little better.
4) I tried the center front mount and don't like it. I use the left side above the pocket where I have some gear tracks.
5) Yak attack blackpack has 3 rod holders. Then 2 flush mounts, then 2 more ram tubes mounted on gear tracks in front of the flush mounts. .... Don't listen to me, I take too much gear.
6) Just swing by to see it in person.
