First paddle out today

Thanks for the report,  I have yet to go in the “big boy water”  I am slowly accumulating everything I need.  Im curious of a few things.  Did you practice self rescue before this,  also what thickness wetsuit do you have.  Now im off to searching youtube “ Trying to get out of wetsuit “

I mostly watched it on youtube, self rescue. I did it once inside the harbor. I think i will do it a couple more times, trying the different techniques and seeing which one works best for me. As for wetsuit, 7mm suit with the booties. Love the booties! Kept me warm all day.
I see that you are in Vallejo. I'm up there a lot at my sister's house. I fish around there too. Benecia when the salmon run, carquinez straits.

Im in Oregon and use a 3/4 mil but I run warmer then most.

I think i will do it a couple more times, trying the different techniques and seeing which one works best for me.

While you are at it, you may want to try some beach launches with an empty kayak.
