TLW peed her pants watching that from here.... she said she would be doing some holly enlightenment and running on water. She literally said "oh my god" like twenty times.

Somebody uploaded a video about this incident.  Very scary, but maybe there is an education somewhere?  Glad the guy made out OK.

This is a strong argument for kayakers being allowed bang sticks. But like any tool, it's only as good as the tool using it.
They need to weave transmitters into a wetsuit for divers and those of us that dangle ;)

We're not?  I might get one anyway.  I can still read good books in jail.

It looks to me the shark got tangled with the kayak and couldn't swim away.

Ghan does not post much ,but it`ll be two years in Sept. at Ocean Cove  that he was a recipient of a  "Polaris missile" attack . Flipped him over but no additional action was taken by the "missle''.. his Hobie is blue I think ,the only other guys I know that have met the Landlord ,Adam ,Ben and Joe have paddle kayaks

That story was hard for me to read and my heart was racing while watching the video.

The year I got hit 2 months earlier I had killed 4 sharks over back to back weekends - tasty buggers.

BTW Vic, I have a dune Hobie Revo.  Good luck out there buddy.

I am curious if anyone had any type of eerie feeling before they were attacked or seen a shark ? I have kayaked on the ocean for a few years now and only once did I have a sense that there was a shark nearby.

Absolutely yes.  Then 5 seconds before I got scwacked I told myself "bullshit, put that out of your mind and peddle on".

I had a drive bye from a 5-6ft thrasher out at haystack rock in Pacific City last year and the only reason I looked down and back to my left was because I had this weird tingly feeling just below and behind  my left ear, I was actually rubbing it on my pfd. It cruised under me heading towards heliumhead as I was telling him to start peddling, after the second or third time I said move now shark and he finally realized it was headed his way. Boy a Hobie accelerates  pretty fast from a rest. Not the landlord but still gives a guy the hebiejebie's.

Maybe the shark was noshing on the kayaker's catch....  It sure spent a lot of time working over a tasteless piece of hard plastic.

Clearly, red kayak is tasty.  Sorry you guys with the red boats, just sayin'.
