Hi All,

Looking for some camping/fishing ideas for me and my older daughter, Olivia this weekend.

Prefer to be relatively close to the water for the kayak, and an option to catch some fish, bass trout crappie whatever, with some nice scenery.  Also should have bathrooms and showers available.  Gonna sleep in the truck.  Preferably within a few hours drive, and someplace we can use minnows.

My ideas were Berry and Melones, but apparently Melones doesn't have camping right now. Steele canyon would work but fishing seems like its been a little slow although this warm spell should help it out some.

Any other ideas?

Ben

I have some inside knowledge that says the bass started tearing up the minnows while drifting at Berryessa over the weekend.

New Hogan.  Acorn campground.  I just fished there this weekend and camped in my rv.  Fishing was good and there were bathrooms all over.  Not sure about showers, but I am sure you can find out on line.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Thanks but I'm looking for something a bit more scenic.  I'm also thinking pardee.

of course olivia just got sent home from school sick, throwing up, so we'll see if she's still up for it.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure minnows are the best option for her to catch a small-ish fish on her frozen rod.

Don Pedro.  Moccasin point campground.
I was just there.  The lake is full, campground open. I think Site B1 - B3 are close to restroom with showers .

Last time I drifted minnows up there I caught a 6lb largemouth....she might have to "Let it Go"... :smt004
