If i was in town i'd be there, but i'm stuck on road (in plane actually).

Please, please post if you get into 'em.

Might also think about that Chimney rock launch...we got early fish there (in boat) last year

Hey Steve, I was hoping you were around for the dux! Next time. We should hit some bay spots also sometime, n. tower, saus, corta madera...
How is the launch at chimney rock? Might be worth a try.

Wish I could join ya bro but it's looking right now like the only way my yak is getting wet is if I get out the hose and blow the dust off

Say for me when you're in smileys that I owe somebody a good time

There's a fisherman or two who offered to throw a lifeline in wild conditions and another who just talked straight where straight talk is for the initiated

I may not make it in there in my present incarnation, however

If I do, good

otherwise let them drink and be merry

keep you fish and you whiskey cold and dry

Backindayak,

We actually have a forum dedicated to places to launch. It can be found here:

http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?board=4.0

Also, there is the search option here:

http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?action=search

If you typed in "bolinas launch" into the search bar, you'd soon find this thread:

http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=691.0

If you search on some of the other terms found in the above thread, you'll find a wealth of information on what/where/how of fishing near Bolinas.

You can also get amazing visual information from the California Coastal Records Project:

http://www.californiacoastline.org/

Google Earth has a tilt mode that will also give you a good idea of the terrain around a specific launch.  Using Google or Yahoo! maps, with the satellite or hybrid mode will also give you great information.

Regards,
Scott

Bolinas is a fun place to paddle in pretty foggy conditions on the ocean. The boey is due south, three miles, easy to find, nice and noisy, which makes coming back just as easy. The weird thing is, you cant see land after 100 yards. Its better when its clear.

hey guitarzan!

Yah chimney is EASY...flat calm put-in, then a short (ish) paddle out past the reef to the grounds.
Make sure to bring a cart. I drove down to the launch, but that might not really be legal (don't park down there).
If swells are up- and they look ok- then go wide around the reef (S).

You can stop at an overlook prior to droppng down ot parking, and look over a wide area for birds/bait. Worked for me- spotted them, launched, paddled around the corner towards them, and got hammered.

Yikes!

Just saw this road closure...so unless you feel like walking a few miles, i'd say its out until the road is open
