waited till about 6:45 or so for Mike, but ddin't see him,  so paddled out from the old lifeboat launch.
First fish about a half mile N of the bouy in 180' 8#, go home another mile N-- 24#. Biggest off the yak to date (and first yak salmon this year). both on WMA at 45 pulls. Off the water by 10:30. 8 miles of paddling in total- not too bad.
Lots of boats S of bouy and another group NW. Both my fish came inside and between those guys-- huge bait ball-- mostly macs and herring

the launch here is like a pool - a bit of a paddle, but not too bad (shorter than dux i think). I headed north, but it sounded like lots of fish being caught just S of the buoy (which is a fairly quick paddle).
Mike,
I saw you off in the distance as i was heading in, tried to hail you on 69, but no answer?  Didn't feel like paddling all the heck the way over there... hope you got into fish as well.

going for salmon first per Steve's M.O., then RF on the way back, carefully staying off the MPA.

thanks again to SteveS for the awesome report!

Hey Blue-

Did he have any fish? I haven't heard back from him...and am wondering if he got into them south of the bouy.

SteveS-

Nice job... I miss the cold water fishing. I can't wait to get back on the water.

Hey man,

yah- just got back from tahoe- so pics coming soon-- we left basically as soon as the fish were filleted, and packed in the cooler (needed fresh salmon for BBQ).

Nice fish, WTG.  One of these days I'll get back out on the water for salmon.
