Just a quick note to introduce myself....live near the Folsom area and have never been kayak fishing before.  Lots of boat fishing, but kayaking seems like a great sport/hobby and I just had to have one!
I started a youtube channel documenting my journey...from equipping my kayak and all I will learn along the way.  Check it out!  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCspRUPxMKnbQ7kiU-BUZJJA
Looking forward to learning lots and seeing you all on the water!

.... and watch the wind

This. Unless you're sailing, the wind is not your friend.

Welcome Chris.
A word of advice, only because I've BTDT, make sure what you post on your videos is tried and true.
Just an example ( I like the engraved plate BTW) but you mentioned having to drill out the rivets if you wanted to sell the kayak. Why not just use screws and nuts? And there was no mention of using Goop in the holes you drilled for the rivets. Always use a sealant on the holes you drill.
You will find a TON of info here.
I'm right up the hill in Placerville. If you ever have any questions shoot me a PM.
Chances are I've done it, screwed it up the first time, but eventually got it right.
