I hit the Cove around 1:45 and saw several boats out between the Bell and Whistle.  The DFG fish-counter guy said there were fish being caught, so I was stoked.  As I geared up there were 3 other yakkers getting ready to head out for a paddle, but no rods on board for them...  As I headed out I spoke to a PB that had gotten skunked, then heard bleak reports on the radio, so apparently there weren't too many fish being caught after all.  I heard the bite on Thursday hadn't picked up until 3, so there was still hope.  As I got out toward the Bell and headed toward the fleet south of there I noticed that the water never cleared up - it was a Lipton Tea-brown everywhere.  Could've been a bloom.  I trolled for an hour or so, heard no action on the radio, powerboats were heading in skunked, and the wind picked up to whitecap strength, so I headed back to the sun-drenched beach for a cold one and a dip before cruising home.  There were lots of people playing on the beach and a couple of good little waves being surfed at the washrock - nice day.  As I hit the cleaning table on the way out of there I spoke to the fishcounter guy again and he said 3 fish came in all day and one was a 26#er, so it was worth being out there to have had a chance at that.  I did also see whales spout twice and a pair of dolphins at one point.  The salmon bite is the usual hot and cold, so hopefully it turns on for tomorrow.

Good stuff. Thanks for the report, Abking!

Man, that slide in the back of that pic is huge. I noticed it when we were up there last month too. Thought those big trees at the bottom would've washed away by now.

Hopefully you got some fatty abs today!
