Fuck me to tears, but I can NOT figure out how to set the brightness level on my Elite 4 HDI fish finder.

I know I've done it before, but I can not find any screen menus that will take me to a setting where I can set the over all brightness of the screen.

Can anyone help me with that before I slather this thing in fish guts and use it in my crab trap as bait this weekend?  Because that's about all it's good for on bright days until I can figure it out.

Thanks!!

Figured it out.  Those SHIT HEADS at Lowrance did a dirty trick with the on/off button.  Once unit is on, bump the on/off button a second time, a screen pops up to adjust, among other things, brightness.  However, bump the button again and the screen gets darker.  Again, darker still, until it's so dark you can't see a fuckin' thing!!!!  I must have accidently bumped my on/off button a couple times.  Thought I was loosing my vision!!!

If anyone else has this POC, just know that.  Wanna have 'fun' with someone, bump their on/off button a few times until the screen goes black or near black, then sit back and watch the fun as they go through every single menu looking for a way to bring back the screen brightness.

I had too.  :smt044
I figured that out the hard way. On one salmon trip I had to take my sunglasses off and really look at it. I found out when I got home and played around with it.

:smt044 :smt044 A friend of mine has had an elite 5 on his boat for over a year and constantly threatens to switch brands because his screen is too dark and there's no way to adjust it. Finally one day I put it on full bright and left it, now it's too bright early in the morning and late at night  :smt003

Glad you got it figured out!
