Took me a lot of pondering to get it up there without scratching or denting my new car. But finally got it down fairly effortlessly

Tucked a folded blanket into the trunk and shut it. Set nose on blanket on trunk lid. Slid it up until nose was resting on rear rail, lifted kayak and slid it forward

Way to go Jeff. Living in the mountains gave you great strength. One exception, you WILL scratch that car up no matter how careful you are.  :smt003
