Well, I am now officially a member of the exclusive 13,000 post club.

 :smt005 :smt044

Sailfish, Mooch, LoletaEric and I have now passed the 13,000 mark...looking forward to learning the secret handshake!!  :smt002 :smt003 :smt004

NCKA has been a big part of my life since I joined in 2009.

The community and the friends I have made on and off the water have been with me through good times and bad, and I hope that my contributions have been positive to the community and the many members...

I have attached eight pics that I think represent some of the more meaningful events that have happened in the past 8 years...

1. My first time meeting and fishing with the A-Hulls at SWS for the 2010 Rockfish Opener. Was an amazing day, my first time at a location that has become one of my favorites, and with folks who have become some of my best friends and brothers/sisters. Also rocking the BigYak which was my very first kayak which I used to win GS4 a few months later in 2010.

2. My first time meeting Mooch OTW at the very first Pay It Forward Paddle in 2010. Mooch lives in my heart and I think about him all the time. I think he would be very proud of the work we have done and continue to do with PIF which has now raised and donated over $80,000 to members of the NCKA community dealing with cancer/serious illness/tragedy since we started in 2010.

3. My 2013 Diver Of The Year championship plaque. I am very proud to say that I helped start DOTY, and am very grateful to everyone who has made the game fun and successful for going on 6 years now. Winning in 2013 was awesome, and only happened because I was able to finally find and shoot my first halibut after years of staring at literally miles and miles of sand underwater.

4. My first ten inch abalone! Taken up at Shelter Cove at GS. My favorite event of the year and one I have made without fail for the past 7 years since my first time at GS4.

http://doty.norcalkayakanglers.com/catches/1075

5. My PB halibut at 41+ inches and 31 pounds. Taken while diving with batt who is one of my my "waterman" heroes. Second biggest Halibut in DOTY history so far, only fuzz' 46 inch beast has beat it. My old cooler was no match for it.  :smt005

6. My best day of diving for Verms so far. Managed to get three in one day while diving with fuzz, Adam415 and IceColdChuck....we took 13 total between the three of us! This is still my PB at 22.25 inches.

7. My Top2Bottom2 PISCEAN winner plaque. Both Top2Bottom events have raised $ for people battling Cancer, and I was lucky enough to win in 2015 largely due to a beautiful 38 inch Lingcod that I found on my last dive of the day. Very grateful to Sean PISCEAN Walker for all his work that he does making these beautiful awards/art for our various comps.

8. My best day of diving for Stripers so far. In less than an hour car-to-car I managed to get a beautiful 33.5 incher and a stud 42.75 inch 31 pounder. Such an amazing experience, especially after skunking MANY times in 2013, 2014, and 2015.

Threw together a compilation vid of some of my favorite footage from 2014-2016 of Lingcod, Cabezon, Halibut, Striped Bass, Sheephead, Vermilion and Olive Rockfish. Tried to include some older footage but apparently everything pre-2014 was lost or corrupted.

Thank you all for letting me a part of this awesome community, and I am looking forward to many more years and adventures and experiences.

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

What a cool milestone.
Congratulations Jim, you took the NCKA world by storm back when you joined. With a massive amount of enthusiasm and sportsmanship, I have no doubt that the great Mooch would be more proud of you today than ever.

I'm so stoked to have been, in my own small way, a part of "The Rise of BigJim"!

Think about all those lucky fish lives that have been spared because of your bum knee.

Heal up soon bro and go shoot something big in the face  :smt003  :fishing1
