Hello Members,
I met Mooch at Fisherman's Warehouse today and he told me about the site. I'm brand-spanking new to this but I'm really interested. I've never been kayaking so I plan to rent one and go to a few classes first. I hope I get hooked.

Hey, thanks to those who welcomed me. I look forward to getting out there and trying this. Where should I post a request to try out a boat? I haven't bought any gear yet, so I need to be properly attired.

While there are lots of generous folks who will let you try out their kayaks, I think you would be better off starting out on a guided trip. He won't promote himself, but SCAllen has a kayak fishing guide business. Since you are a beginner at both sports, I would recommend that you hire him for an outing so you can learn how to handle a kayak while fishing. He'll provide all the gear.
