I have one of those Battery Tenders.  I really like it for the weight and the charge longevity.  I charge it every chance I get, but I've been able to stretch it over a couple full days of fishing on a single charge.  Have fun with the modding!

Thanks Clayman.  I was hoping this battery would be a good purchase.  Yea you can't beat the weight even if I were to run two of these batteries.

Well picked up my kayak today and I am Juiced!  I couldn't wait so started adding things.  Like my fish finder straight off.

I'm hoping you don't find that your FF location gets in the way of paddling. Good luck with the toys!

PS: Are you mounting the kiddy slide on the front or the back of the kayak?

Location should be all right.  I plan on paddling outside my kayak.  As far as the kiddy slide I was thinking off the rear.  Instead I went with off the Bimini top.

I was worried about location as well, more so from the transducer then the actual unit.  So I mounted the transducer further forward.  With the ram mount I can tilt in and down if needed.  Thanks for the mention Seabird.

With any luck it should work out. I had to move a rod holder in a similar spot.

I see you're in Crockett which isn't too far from me; PM me if you're ever fishing in the area.

I don't know if you've fired up that fish finder or not yet, but I just installed mine and wanted to mention this to you.

My touchscreen barely worked, I mean I had to nearly punch the buttons. Thought maybe my battery was dead, so I swapped it, same problem. Got to digging online, and the issue is something electrical (capacitance? I don't know some nerdy crap). Anyway, if you have this problem, you can either put your finger on the yellow wire, or hold the transducer in your hand and it works like a charm, and apparently, being in the water will make it grounded or whatever it needs and it'll work fine.

Just some info to maybe save you a panic! Kayak looks great!

Fun times. But beware the TMS syndrome... I know I'm afflicted.

Hey thanks.  I know about the ground.  If you touch the transducer it is the same as holding the yellow wire.  Funny thing is I found that out watching youtube prior to purchase.  Thanks.
