Hello all,

My name is David and I was introduced to this forum by a guy named John who goes by Psherman?? I was at Shadow Cliffs Reservoir when I met him. He had a blue kayak.

Anyways, I just got myself a fishing kayak and I've only been out twice. Once at Quarry and once at Shadow. I caught a couple small trout each time I went out but nothing worth keeping. I was bait-fishing and casting lures from my kayak.

Im familiar with shore fishing but a newbie when it comes to kayak fishing so I'm eager to learn how to troll (without a downrigger). Eventually I want to get a fish finder but for now Ill rely on other boaters to find out where the fish are.

Besides the east bay lakes, I want to try the delta for Stripers when I feel comfortable out in the water. Im on Fishbrain App as Dlong89 so feel free to add me there.

Talk to you later,

David

Peace,

David

Welcome to NCKA, David!
It was great meeting you.

I ended up keeping a 12 inch and 18+ inch trout for 2 hours of trolling. I'll give some tips next time.  :fishing2

Welcome! P-Sherman is a good dude! All of us are except MAYBE Texasboy. He is an asshole.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Welcome to NCKA, David.

:smt001

I just got one from Walmart. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sun-Dolphin-Journey-10-Sit-On-Fishing-Kayak-with-Paddle/32333500

I read its a good starter kayak. Cheap but durable. Plus its only 10ft so its portable.
