Lafayette Res. 3/25

I was able to get my home projects finished last night at about 11:30 (WAF Account points).  Thought about going out to Alameda, but wind was blowing pretty good and after reading yesterday's report, decided to stay closer to home. 
At Laf. Res. I put in at 8:50 a.m. and fished until 1.  Was windy (up to 8 knots) for first 90 or so minutes then calmed down to less that 2 knots.  Caught two Rainbows.  First was about 10" and caught on Gold/Red Criplure toplining with 180' of line out.  He hit it along the East shore in about 20' of water at 9:10.  Then about 10:45 hooked onto a 22", 3.5 lb Rainbow in 12' of water trolling along the East shore tules.  He hit a #8 black Crystal Bugger trolled 100' back with one color  of lead core out (maybe 7-10' down).   Those were the only fish and the only hits.  Water temp was 62, skies were mostly overcast (high fog blowing in from the west) barom. was 1016 mb. Only a few others caught fish from what I saw.  One boat with three guys had four Rainbows to 20" caught on Kastmasters at the very end of the South cove. Power Baiters and wormers had nothing from what I could tell.

Great Details!  you are the only one I know, that pulls trout out of there, on a consistant basis!

Adam, you must not know anybody!      
I'm not consistent, I'm just lucky that they planted 10 gazillion fish there in the past few months and happened to be at the right place at the right time. 
Actually the last three times I've caught more than one fish and two of those times I caught trout over 22".  I had never caught more than one fish there on any given day and my total life time catch for that lake before this year was maybe four fish!  Before this streak I had four or five in a row of the big skunk.  Laf. has always been a challenge until now and probably it will be the next time out.

I hope this photo posts.  I've never posted photos before because I don't know how and because I don't want to ruin my wife's camera on the water.  I'll try the "Additional Options" at the bottom.
Side note:  I put the other objects in for perspective (size not art). This fish is 3.5# 22".  I put in the banana peel for superstious types who say bananas bring bad luck.  I almost always carry bananas! (If this doesn't get posted up and you're curious about the other objects, just look in your garbage can!)

Pisco - I'm glad you did that.....there are still fishermen out there that believe in that stuff

Tom, nice fish.  Seems like you've got the trout figured out (something I have yet to do).

Hey mooch, long time no see. I dont know guys the two times I was on boats with a bananas on them I had horrible days, including a girl cutting my line that tangled with hers and letting a huge halibut swim away it would have killed the jackpot, and was my only bite all day. Call me superstious but I wont even eat a banana on the way to fish.

Regarding the bananas....maybe they only work on actual "boats" and not kayaks  I stuck one on Josh's kayak a few years back...that same day, he caught a 60 inch sturgeon...go figure

I've heard rumors of deckhands on Hawaiian fishing charters even freaking out when client's attempt to put on "Banana Boat" sunscreen.

This has gone on LONG ENOUGH!!

and may I add, I have taken one on EVERY trip out.

I've been done with school for a year now. I was liveing up buy klamath falls Oregon last summer, then I moved down by Clearlake. Now I am living in Coalinga.( Closer to home for salmon season )
