I'm thinking about taking a couple box traps up there Sunday to soak while I fish. Does anyone know of a good spot to drop traps?

I heard they used to catch them around 80-120 ft. I brought a crab trap before at TC and drop them around 40 ft. Not even a rock crab.

I've done crabbing at Timber Cove, you've got to be at least 100 ft. We dropped pots at 120-130 ft. It's not an easy pedal or paddle.

If you do want to try, don't do more than 2 pots and make sure you have at least 150ft of line.

Btw, Raydon is a beast so that's peanuts for him.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll skip the crabbing unless I end up at Anchor Bay.  :smt006

Stop at Doran beach when is still dark, set the traps then go fishing to TC, by the time you finish you probably will have crab in the pots on the way home.

PS you are a senior, get the season pass for a discount that also gives you a free night of camping and it is also good at a few other places in Sonoma

A couple weeks ago I think they did pretty good at TC. I heard him on the radio say he got a limit in one pot and was calling others to pull the other pot.

That makes sense. His shoulders were probably so cramped up they met in the middle of his back!
