It's been steady all day here in Santa Cruz, but not the total downpour that we were warned about.  And the winds have not been bad.

Checked the buoys and looks like we had some gusts up to 25kt in the middle of the bay, but only up to 13 or so here on shore. Rainfall accumulation is right about one inch for the day.  San Lorenzo is flowing at 2640 right now.  (for comparison, it was around 100cfs yesterday).

What's it like at your house?  Hopefully everyone is warm and cozy.

It was doing what I would call a "Heavy Sprinkle" here in WC the last time I checked. It's been overcast and drizzly for the last week it seems. I imagine it's a bit like living in Seattle.

Im enjoying it.  I intentionally went car shopping today.  With a few hidden layers, I was just warm and dandy....mean time the sales guy was freezing. And I was not caring that the nice clean cars were getting soaked.     :smt044

Raining all day here at the brewery in Fairfield, but not what I would call a storm. Made me want to be dinosaur hunting on my kayak instead of working.

The storm scale on the news cracks me up, today was a "3" people have been talking about it for nearly a week like they need to go stock up on bread and milk.

Not as bad as I had expected. Got just shy of 3" in the rain gauge. The creek didn't jump the road thankfully.
I've logged now 22" in my yard since Oct 1st. Love it when it's spread out a bit!
Might still get fun.

It was relatively mellow here in Humboldt too.  7" at Honeydew in 24 hours, but that's always the wet spot around here.  Mostly 2 to 4 inches in the area - streams are juiced up but expected to crest just at warning stage on Eel and others.

Storm definitely came in more north that forecast.

I'm just grateful for any of it.  (Rain).

but, not too much at one time that causes problems.  We've had a few mudslides and rockfalls around here specially at the Loma Fire site.

There's been steady rain up here near the summit of highway 17. I wonder if this is correct?

https://waterdata.usgs.gov/ca/nwis/uv/?site_no=11160500&PARAmeter_cd=00065,00060

The current reading is almost 6500 cubic feet per second in the San Lorenzo River (at Big Trees) which far exceeds the record of 3320 for this date...

I'd say it's correct, Mark.  I watch lots of readings like that, and unless it gets stuck on one level or some other abnormal reading it is likely spot on.

Loving the flows!
