Nice collection.  I used to collect knives too and have close to 3 dozens but they are not in 1 place!  Let me see if I can find some of them.

I used to have some Butterflies by Benchmade, few Hibbens and Bucks when I was in the army but was stolen when I was deployed. I just started collecting again recently but spend more $$$ now on fishing gears.

nice collection Jim! I like the patina on those.
I've got a mail carrier bag full of my brother's collection, plus many others. I'll see if if I can round up a nice reunion shot for this.

I received one of these last Sunday. It's a Kopis style machete from Cold Steel. The Kopis is a blade style similar to the Kukri, but from the Mediterranean. Most recognize the blade from the film 300.

Started beating it up on Tuesday :smt044 with some redwood branches and a bunch of Pride of Madiera stalks. I was skeptical as the blade is thinner than my kukri, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I'll be using it regularly.

I have a WWII or earlier bayonet of German steel which I got from my grandfather. A 10" or longer blade. I am interested in having a custom hilt and cross guard and or hand guard made.
I did see Notuna's post. Can anybody recommend someone experienced who does this type of work?

ypu can check some websites for knife making supplies; they may have the guards/hilt you are looking for.  Check out ers(I think), Jantz supply or Trugrit.  Some of the add ons can be easily done-some can be hard.
