Andy (Kickin Bass), his two boys, and I hit Lake Mendocino today for a little minnow troll. We concentrated on the North end around Pomo camp ground. I hooked a nice smallmouth with my first case from the bank. Unfortunately it was bleeding so bad it was going to die. Luckily there was a bank fisherman (who I know) who gladly took it of my hands.

I hooked two nice largemouth bass before I hooked a 20 inch 6 pound 3 ounce largemouth. Later in the day wen took a troll up the channel. I hooked a 28 inch striper. He fought the good fight, I was victorious.

Andy said he saw Juan on his yak, but I never got close enough to see him.

Andy's oldest tuckered out it the high winds as we headed back in, so Andy used his drift anchor to pull him along.

CHEERS!

Nice HOG Dan. Looks like 21'' to me. Sounds like you had two good days in a row. Wish I could have stayed one more day. The new stove looks real nice. So do the new kitchen counter tops. Not sure it was worth givin' up a days fishing. :smt011
I am sure I racked up some SERIOUS GAF though!!!

Thanks Tote. Another couple of warm weeks and the striper action will be hot. I found that I increased my catch percentage by increasing the amount of time I spend on the water. Sometimes my WAF suffers, but make-up WAF is good too.  :smt008

Hey Dan! I saw you in the distance near the water tower. Glad to hear about the #6 and the striper. I was on a recreational paddle with a lady, no gear. Kayaks are good for things other than fishing for fish. I wanted to fish though, good thing I didn't see any boils.
Fish-on.

The lake looked a little murky from the pix, is that so.  Good job on the fishin'.  I second guitarzans comment. I love mendo.  Can't wait to go home and catch some stripers.

This pic is too cute for words--you should submit it to SOME publication to share with the fishing world! Whatta a guy!
