Got an IM from my buddy who works on the GE2000. Here's how it went:

Cool... that dialog helps me know what to expect out there.  Thanks, Elric.

I just got back from a sunset paddle out of the San Leandro Marina.  The water was nice and the sunset was beautiful.  Lots on other paddlers were out too including several Hawaiian paddling clubs in their outriggers.
