Most of you know by now Becky and I got a sweet deal on a really cool motorhome.
Well we want to protect our investment so we decided to get a carport (rv port?) for it.
I already prepared a spot to put it. Ordered 7 yards of gravel and spread it out. Not quite enough so ordered another 4 yards. Still not enough so got another 7 yards. That should do it.
The last 7 was dumped mostly in the back, which was not what I wanted but I can take care of it little by little.
Shopped around online for an rv port. Found one company and contacted them. They said between 8-10 weeks for delivery. WTF? Why so long?
After some haggling I got it down to 4-6 weeks. I emailed the signed contract back at 3:03AM Friday morning.
They call me Friday afternoon and say they will be here to install it on Monday!
That gave me 2 days to do 4 weeks worth of work!
I rented a bobcat on Saturday and moved a lot of the gravel from the back and thought I was close to getting the pad ready.
I emailed Jerry and another friend who I met through Jerry what was going on.
Without even asking they both showed up on Sunday with 2 compactors and a transit. Turns out I was WAY off on the grade towards the back and had to shovel most of what was in the middle to the sides while they checked for level and compacted everything.
The middle was significantly low so I decided to order another 7 yards to fill it before the rv port was put up.
They said they'd be here in 1.5 hours.
After an hour they called and said their driver went home sick and couldn't deliver until Monday at 8AM.
Well I had to work.
Jerry and his friend Wayne (my friend too) said they would be here for the delivery while I was at work.
I came home to nothing less than a miracle job they did for me.
I was absolutely blown away!
I was to meet the installers at 2 so I got off work a little early.
Jerry and Wayne both showed up a little before 2 to help out...without me even asking.
After several phone calls it turns out the installers won't be here until tomorrow at 10.
I can't be here because I have to work; but Jerry and Wayne both said they will be here to take care of things...again, without even asking them.
I can honestly say I've never had anyone be so helpful on so much work before in my life and literally ask for nothing in return.
They worked their asses off  for 2 days straight for a few beers and some pizza.
Jerry and Wayne are stand up guys through and through.
I want to thank you guys both and believe me when I say, I owe you BIG TIME!
Pics before and after.

Nice! Good job!

You have a nice wide side yard for RV parking. How many yards total of gravel?

Looks good.  That gravel is heavy stuff.  I just built a driveway for my PB.  I knew it was way beyond what I could do by myself. Dump truck an bobcat dude had it done in eight hours.
