My apologies for the delayed start this year.  I get the feeling that now more than ever we need
to focus on bringing love, cheer and positive vibrations to our communities, friends and family. I can only hope that we also get more fishing days in December than 2015.

1st prize will be 4 lbs of Smoked Salmon or Hamachi--your choice.

Here are the rules:

Rules:////
     1.  Use any item associated with this holiday as a lure. You must catch your fish while fishing     in your kayak.  Please use good taste as we don't want to offend anyone while we enjoy ourselves.
     2.  Post a picture of the lure before using it.  (remember, it must be of a holiday theme)  No stock  lures can be used unless they are modified in some capacity.
     3.  Take a picture of the fish you catch using the holiday lure while it is still attached to
fish.    The fish should then be released.  You will be
contacted by the rule Nazi to verify your catch.
     4.   Post a picture of the fish on  measuring devise showing the length of the fish.
     5.   The longest fish wins.  The fish cannot be flattened or squished to increased it's length.
     6.  Contest closes 12/31/2016  Pictures must be posted by 1/10/2016.

Russ, desert diver, volunteered to enter the first lures.  We were at Jim and Amy's wedding, so it worked out perfectly.

My mind was working on this Santa swimbait for a couple months and came together a few weeks ago...6oz jighead , Branson swimbait and a little Santa I got from  the box of xmas goodies and presto, this years entry
Then I have a little angel that I made last year so she will be plan B
So two things need to happen,
The ocean needs to settle down,
and when we do get out, don't loose the darn things!
Thanks Raydon for doing this...[emoji3]

Wow, I missed this thread. Time to visit the attic and search through the family heirloom Christmas ornaments and get started. Sure would be nice to see the ocean give us a bit of a break over the Holidays. Thank You Again Radon for bringing this festive event back!!

Except for the rains, this weekend looks like a go for the Holiday Tournament. Don't forget to take a picture of your lure before fishing.

I would like to challenge our NCKA members to try to do at least one good dead  each day.  Instead of wondering if you are gong to get all your chores done this season, you can dwell on the good feeling you have by doing a random act of kindness.

We try to do that all year long but during the Holidays we step it up...

I got this idea from my sister.  This is good stuff and easy to do.  "This is what me and my daughter have started doing....We are keeping a "Blessing bag" in our car in case we find someone in need. You can make these up with items from the Dollar Tree such as gloves, thermal socks, beef sticks, crackers, candy bars, toothpaste, toothbrush, wipes, deodorant, snacks and other items that may help someone who is homeless or in a bad way. It is just a thoughtful, inspiring thing to do. This is something we are going to start doing from now on. Thank you to the ones that did this long before us, for being such a giving, loving, caring person! Random acts of kindness take very little to change the life of just one person." 👼

What a truly wonderful idea.  Had to share! 👍
