Job Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for developing short/mid-term strategies for target markets with a focus on freshwater fishing.  Creating monthly and annual sales objectives for territory sales reps while managing specific budgets.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Develop short and mid-term strategy for his or her territory; taking into consideration market, retailer and consumer insight balanced against Shimano’s long term objectives.
Create both annual and monthly sales objectives in coordination with Shimano’s business plan.
Provide an annual sales plan and providing quarterly updates, revisions and modifications to the plan.
Establish both market and key account strategies.
Spend a significant portion of time in the field both with individual accounts and co-traveling with sales personnel.
Coordinate through principal sales rep, all in-territory salesmen focused activities related to sell-in and sell-through of all brands.
Build sales planning templates. Maintain sales forecasts, territory reporting and seasonal budgets.
Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales forecasts for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
Create both annual and monthly sales objectives for field based reps in coordination with Shimano’s business plan.
Prepare, review and manage regional sales budgets and forecasts.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Work collaboratively with Product, Go to Market and Supply Chain Group.
Job Qualifications:

5+ years’ experience in account and /or territory management
3+ years’ experience in managing personnel, excellence in interpersonal communication and management skills.
Advanced knowledge and skills in performing market analyses to identify profitable growth opportunities, forecasting sales, developing and implementing sales plans to profitability grow revenue.
Experience in creating and managing co-op programs and budgets.
Experience in T&E budget management.
Skills and ability to utilize analytics to develop strategic sales plans for growth.
Experience working with a CRM platform.
Providing reports to an overseas parent company
Deep knowledge of the freshwater fishing industry with a focus on the bass market.
Solid experience in MS Office, retail math and in-store merchandising.
Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to operate with minimal supervision.
This position is based in the territory with an extensive travel requirements.
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is desired.

Job Summary:
Position will be responsible for positively and professionally promoting the Shimano, G. Loomis, Power Pro and Jackall product lines to specific national customers, supporting brand building and marketing efforts.   They, in conjunction with an outside sales agency, will be the primary retailer contact and execute the day to day selling responsibilities associated.   Manage profitable growth and development of assigned accounts, increasing account penetration in an effort to maximize sales potential, exceeding budgeted growth parameters and developing future expansion.   Responsible for contributing to strategic direction and product development for this market channel. Evaluate, summarize and communicate key learnings, competitive activity and trends which will be incorporated into overall strategies and activities within the business objectives.

 Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

·        Ensure robust set of account strategic plans that support overall channel strategy but reflect key differences in account positioning and consumer types

·        Work directly with buyers and senior management at corporate offices of major national accounts to generate business, to develop and negotiate national contracts, broad corporate strategies and guidelines for positioning of the brand, purchase, merchandising, and promotion of Shimano products, and to manage ongoing contracts and business relationships

·        Work closely with product, Go to Market and supply chain to ensure winning concepts are developed and brought to the channel; drive sales perspective on range segmentation for the channel and for the specific accounts within the channel

·        Prepare analyses and reports that monitor, forecast and analyze sales activity and trends. Assess product and customer performance and profitability, (inventory replenishment requirements), and market risks and opportunities

·        Strive for a high degree of forecast accuracy so supply chain is closely connecting the retailer’s forecast to inventory.

·        Manage full P&L for the the select group of customers and channel

·        Collect competitive field data related to price points, trends, pack sizes, photos and overall competitive activity in the marketplace

·        Effectively sell Shimano, G. Loomis, Power Pro and Jackall products in a manner that is consistent with the strategic business plan

·        Maximize sustainable and quality sell-thru within the channel – drive the business

·        Set clear and measurable objectives for involved independent sales agencies

·        Collaborate with the Sr. Sales Manager to create compelling selling strategies, develop agenda, secure resources and lead sales meetings, including line presentations per. Direct staff in the preparation of sell-in and sell-through reporting procedures and other materials that will support sales efforts, and in logistical coordination of sales meetings and trade shows

·        Foster and manage good business relationships with retailers, buyers at key accounts, and others in a position to drive brand awareness and enhance sales of Shimano products

·        Influence cross-functionally with Heads of other departments (e.g., Product Management and Go-to-Market) to capitalize on opportunities and develop and implement initiatives that will drive sustainable sell-thru and further relationships within the assigned channel

Job Qualifications:

       7 year’s sales and merchandising experience at national level, preferably in outdoor sporting goods industry
·        Previous experience in the development of annual business plans and budgets, sales forecasts and report, and budget management

·        Previous experience working with independent sales agencies.

·        Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully with a variety of people

·        Exceptional influence, negotiation and selling capabilities

·        Highly organized, self-motivated, and energetic individual

·        Outstanding analytical, creative problem-solving and verbal/written communication capabilities

 This position requires extensive travel, more than 50%. Most travel is outside the local area and overnight

 Education:

 Bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in sales and marketing, or equivalent experience

Still got a boss, and sounds high pressure but good for someone.  I always ask fishing related employees if they fish and they wish they had more time to fish.  I'm disqualified any whoo lacking all that experience required.  Sounds like a solid company though.  I wonder if they are a good stock pick....
