lets try again :smt001

In a photo from Tim Pruitt and provided by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Tim Pruitt, of Alton, Ill., holds a 124-pound blue catfish early Sunday morning, May 22, 2005, that he hooked late Saturday on the Mississippi River near Alton. The fish is 58 inches long and 44 inches around. It took Pruitt more than a half-hour to drag the fish into his boat. It is the largest of its kind in state history, and is expected to be certified a world record by the International Game Fish Association. The fish has been kept alive and will be on display in a tank at the Cabela's Outfitter store in Kansas City, Kan., according to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The link works, it just has the url tags both at the end.

If you edit your post and put the first url tag before the address it will work.

That is a huge fish.  To bad we don't live near the cabellas so we could go see it swimmig around in their huge tank.

MELBOURNE, Australia (AFP) - A 50,000-strong swarm of spider crabs gathered off a Melbourne beach this week, covering a stretch of seafloor the size of a football field and likely "scaring the hell" out of local fish, marine scientists said.

Chuck - for a guy who's married, you sure do a lot of fishing :smt002  What's your secret? I'm sure the rest of the married men on this board could use some advise.  :secret

How about a write-up on the main page  :smt003

"How to fish consistently and keep the wife happy at the same time"

I can see this book as a best seller  :smt024   :smt003

Okay... at risk of my wife reading this.... here it is...

1) Marry a girl who's independent.  If your wife has her own interests such as shopping, spending time with her sisters and nephews, it'll take the pressure off you.  She won't be waiting for you at home.

2) Marry a girl whose father is sportsman.  She'll better understand your need to hunt and fish.

3) Set the rules and her expectations early.  If you're fishing every weekend at the beginning of your relationship, then she shouldn't expect you to have to change once married.

4) Put off having kids as long as possible.  Infants and young children will drastically limit your free-time.  Just ask the fathers in our group.

5) Move closer to fishing grounds.  You'll cut down on travel time and be able to squeeze in more shorter fishing trips.

6) Minimize your yard work.  Opt for low maintenance lanscaping at home.  The smart sportsmen I know have yards with minimal grass and plants to maintain.  Concrete and rocks are my friends.

7) Feed her family.  Make her family appreciate the fact that you fish.  Share your catch with them.  Better yet, invite them over for a fish fry or crab feed.

8) Do something nice after a day of fishing.  Cook dinner, take her out for movie, clean the house, or have good sex when you get back.  She'll subconsciously associate your fishing with her pleasure.  I learned that one from my formal psychology education.  :smt002
