So I went down to Cotati for the RAAC meeting.  Wow them Abalone make people blurt out inappropriate things like they had Tourette's.

Well at least I noticed they opened the bypass so next time folks cut through and are not going to Ft bragg they can get to shelter cove quicker.

$300,000,000 bypass . . . .does that include the replacement of the section that collapsed?  And to think years ago the going price for a mile of I-5 was about one million.

I know a few people who had/have issues with the by-pass but  ....it was a delight Thursday early evening to jet right by Willits (on my way to the Mighty Smith River) and not spend fifty minutes at the stop light by Safeway. I hope the town prospers without the additional vehicles but something really needed to be done...

That will be nice. I hope it doesn't hurt the local businesses.
I'm sure less people will make impulse stops since they won't be right in front of a given business.

So, no exit off the bypass for Hwy. 20 ?
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

There are two exits one on either end of town.  Just like other places that didn't always have a bypass like cloverdale.  People will still pull off if they need something but it should reduce traffic congestion at 101/HWY 20 which sometimes took 30 min to get through.

There have been days it took me an hour to get through Willits when heading north around a holiday.

It used to be that way in Cloverdale, too.

Thanks for clarifying , that's what I thought, I've been caught at both towns before the bypasses  :smt011

Yup, and Cloverdale is a ghost town now.

I stop in cloverdale almost every time I head North.  It's where I get fuel and drain water from the tanks.... ;)

Wilits will be the same, Safeway will still be my stop.

I am very excited to be able to skip past Willits.  I'll be headed south this weekend for a very quick down and back for a football game in Lake County and this will save me 30 minutes on the way down.  That's huge.

I've always hated the trip south from here and Willits traffic was one of the big reasons why.

our lovely little town of cloverdale(just bought a house here) is changing, we are trying to bring in more people, and our restaurant is on the frontline of this change, so when you come through, stop and say hi and have a great meal by or take away some amazing breads and pastries by my way better half.  :smt006,  cameron

I mean we usually stop by Starbucks to get my wife a Starbucks anyways but would be nice to have more lunch options.
