So I've done some searching on here and all of my experience is useless on this case.  Anyone have any suggestions for Sonoma (or Mendo) dive sites that are protected in a WSW swell?

I'm familiar with the usual TC, OC, SWN but that's usually when I'm trying to hide from the usual NW swell.  Think they'll still be doable in the stuff coming later next week?

Not much protection from a southern swell. In general its very deceiving because the surface ussually seems calm till you make a drop and go flying accross the bottom in the surge. Southern swells are long period and carry way more energy. A 3 foot south is way more powerful in the shallows than a 5 or 6 foot short period wind swell. Sometimes going deeper helps but most of the time the fish hole up and hide.
