So I'm waiting to have 7 yards of gravel delivered and I figure, what not shoot?
I break out the bow and at 20yds I fling 5 arrows. Did OK.
I walk up to pull the arrows and something makes a quick flash and goes behind the target.
At first I thought it was a Scrub Jay.
As I peer behind the target a juvenile squirrel appears.
It surprises me and I jump back a bit.
This thing is faster than anything.
It darts out, jumps to the ground, then starts to climb up my leg. This all happens within in a split second.
Instantly the Willies fill my body and the squirrel realizes I'm not a tree and darts off into the wilderness.
Goose bumps all over and I'm sure the squirrel felt the same.
If you've ever watched these creatures you know how fast they move and how agile they are.
Glad to say we both came out unscathed.  :smt044

Yikes. They are so fast, aren't they?

When I lived in Michigan we would watch the squirrels in the trees behind our apartment. They were all fast and agile, but there was one small squirrel who made the others look lethargic in comparison. It moved so fast it was hard to believe. I'm not sure if it was a different species or what.
