I spent the weekend working on my garage. I had kayaks on the ground, half of my garage was overflowing with boxes and bins for storage. It was a pain in the ass to load/unload kayaks and move around the garage. So I decided to finally tackle the project. I wanted to be able to load and unload the AI easily. So I made a wall mount approximately the same height, so that I can lay it flat.

I made it out of unistrut. So far it seems to be holding up pretty well. I might want to change the 2" lag screws for 3" to help brace it, though.

Worst case scenario I can just add one more "leg" that goes from the edge to the ground for support. I might do that anyway but that's a project for later. My next project is to make a freestanding wood beam kayak stand that is 40" tall. That way I can move them out of the way when needed but other times it'll hold my Predator XL. the Predator XL and AI are stupidly heavy so this will make things much more convenient. The Trident 13 and Predator 13 I can easily lift so I'm fine with where they are.

The last pic is cluttered and needs a bit more work but I put all the drywall up and those shelving up so a whole lot of crap is out of the way now. All that shit was in a pile in the middle of the garage until now. 95% of it belongs to my brother, he's a bit of a hoarder.

Further projects is to modify my trailer to have storage space on the bottom. And I plan to make some rod holders to keep it protected and out of the way, but I haven't decided how I'm gonna do it. I want some kind of way I can store rods with reels on the trailer, obviously it's not going to be left in there unattended. Just take what I need and transport it in the trailer. But I can't tell how to do it with the rod attached that won't risk coming off on the highway or require buying like, 6" diameter PVC.

I have 4 large lockable Plano boxes bolted to the base deck of my trailer.  They're great for storing gear, including my mirage drive but there's no place for rods.  I usually keep them bungeed to the ceiling of my Man Van. The storage boxes are great fro hauling dirty stinky gear home without having it in the van or car.

RBark, did you buy your trailer with the racks on it already?  I'm getting ready to build one and am looking for ideas.

Looks good. I envy you people who have a garage.

That's a great idea. I'll look into that. And yeah, I could keep the rods in the truck and may do that if I don't find an alternative...

Yeah, the racks were already there but one of them broke off. this is supposed to be able to carry 4-5 kayaks but it can't until be back rack gets repaired and reinforced. That's gonna require welding and I'm going to pay Bill (FishingForTheCure) to repair it later.
