3/18 Clearlake haunts

The lake was choppy and the bassboat folk said it had been slow since this morning. I held out at the B&G until it smoothed out some, then I had to go back into the trees/shallows that were on fire on friday, but this time I was alone.
   I started out with the watermelon/red flk senko and swapped out with a ripbait for some variety, but every victm was with the senko.  Thank you MR. Yamamoto!
 I fished the edges then moved in tight and the small males were going bezerk with a occasional bruiser showing up. Stopped counting after 13 and continued to catch fish. Still nothing of super size, but a awesome afternoon of catching alot of aggresive bass. All fish were taken in 4'-6' of water and released unharmed.

Looks like you had another great day. Those are nice looking fish.

H2O, Mako and I missed ya.  We launched at county park, and your right the boats were out in full force. We did not have much wind.  Mako started pullin some bass out right away.  I on the other hand have yet to master the Senko, and its SLOW action.

I saw a local guy fishing a tourney, land a 10 lber, and a 7 lber.  HUGE fish..  he came over and gave me a few soft baits to try.  The guy was very nice.  as they were floating away, the guy cuts his hand bad with a hook?  I gave him my cheapo 1st aid kit to repair himself.  Just think if he didnt give me those worms he could have got LOCK JAW and died right in front of me. WOW thats heavy...

I ended up with 2 little LMB's  for most the day, I began to paddle back to the launch and saw a guy tossin spinner baits.  HE said he had been doing good all day.  I put a spinner bait on and BAM, I landed a 4 lber, about a 100 few from the launch.  It was a great day!

 thanks for helping out the local and keeping the basscar crowd kayak friendly.  Sorry that I missed you guys but there was no way I couldve left this hot spot. Still the word is that the northend is the place to be, so im spending more time in the less pressured south. My work week is pretty hectic but Ill be back at it this weekend, let me know if you guys are interested in hunting for some big girls.

Maybe you could give rodman slough a try and give a report about there. Its the north end with good spot to park west side of the bridge crossing the lake. Easy access too.

 Rodman slough is definately on my to do list. Thought about putting in at scotts creek on 29 and drifting through the slough. But I need to do some more homework first, not sure I can make it. There is alot of the lake I have yet to explore and the area around anderson marsh and cache creek is probably my next target.

I'm in for friday. I think a small front is moving in saturday.
