too much rain, not enough diving, but a friend texted me this afternoon that the berkeley hills got 2.5 inches of rain, so i decided i'd go poke around to see if any mushrooms were coming up... and sure enough i found a bunch!
also picked up something like 15 tiny ticks, incredible never ever seen that!
too early to predict a great mushroom season, but i will go out on a limb and guess that it's going to a banner year for tick fans!

Nice work, chants are great!  Unusual to hear of ticks in October.

Gonna check my "secret" porcini spot this evening.  We got plenty of rain this weekend, should've coaxed at least a few to pop out of the ground.  Oyster mushrooms should be going bonkers this week too.

on the ticks, yeah i am used to zero or at the most one. you know we had a light early rain maybe a good month or longer ago. and maybe that plus just right weather conditions got some cycle going. Maybe a cold snap will come along and dent the population. it was no problem for me last winter
