Loletaeric thank you for welcoming me and as far as the motor sir I really lack knowledge when people say oh I caught 2 trolling for what ever reason in my mind. I think oh okay with a TROLLINGmotor but I was wrong. And no need to apologize, and no it was not negative

And believe it or not it helped me out a lot depth has to do with the temperature of the water and trolling speed I guess just depends on weather conditions but obviously I'll have to play with all 4 until I start to see patterns

There are big breakers in Ft Bragg with gale force winds and plenty of rain.  If it was even slightly crappy I would be out there.

Just my 2 cents.

I'm pretty new here also, however my experience is the exact opposite of yours. Reading through some of your post I can tell you why. Like a lot of the older new guys here I came in and read before asking questions that I knew would already have been answered. I would first use the search feature (it does work) to see if a topic was covered already. When I had a specific question such as weight ratings on kayaks I Googled it first, before asking for other opinions.

I signed up for tournaments and walked around talking to people. Having never fished from a kayak on the ocean I read the Safety First forum (following the suggestions) and let those I was going out with know I was new. As soon as I said let a person know I was new they pretty much made sure to look out for me and told me to stay close.

When I lacked technique I would first google it, then watch others as they fished to learn that technique such as jigging for Ling.

Sorry if you feel this is negative, but I'm an old Vet and dont have time to filter. You seem to suffer from the same thing a lot of todays youth suffers from; You seem to think people here owe you answers. You've asked a lot of questions that a simple search would have given you the answer to, but you couldn't be bothered to help yourself. This thread along with the "Goodbye" thread just screams of special snowflake drama that most here don't give a rats 6 about.

If you really want a fresh start I'll support that (even though my support doesn't matter). I'll even give you a little advise: People tend to help those they see are willing to help themselves.

but then again thats just my 2 cents.
