I bought at least a few Berkley braid scissors to stash in my man cave and for on the water but it's like having "BRICK" style Lead Acid batteries.  You have to get at least a few for a years worth...at least for how much I kayak fish.  So I've decided to upgrade to these.   goo.gl/uXKdXP

Anyone have any quality braid cutting tools they like to share?

I've had the same pair over 2 years now, I wash them with freshwater and spray WD40 on them (and other gear like pliers, fish grips, etc) after every saltwater trip.

My Boomerangs just gave up after about 2.5-3 yrs. Clean them and oil occasionally. You know I use them a lot too.

Suprised you guys are getting that kind of life out of them. Mine seem to dull and start fraying cuts.

I may have to try again.  I gave up on mine, even took apart and tried to sharpen.

I've always used https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012FGME00/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ADEJGTGLW2JLT, but only in freshwater. I have yet to try them in salt water so I don't know how long they will last. For Fresh water they have lasted around 4 years with care.

Thank you fellas for sharing.  Besides WD40, what other lubricants or cleaners do you use?

I know of a deck hand in a rock fish party boat that swears by this, though he only used them to cut mono & fluoro.  I think he said he buys a new one every season, but on a rock fish party boat, that's a lot of use!

Fiskers scissors for kids will cut braid well and that's what I use in my cave.  OTW, I like the Boomerangs (salt water version) that I clip to my pfd.  I have one of those Line Cutter rings and they cut good but I accidentally cut my line when I was working on something and my ring snagged the line - luckily I had my Deep6 on board.
