I just got my new Hobie on Saturday off a guy on craigslist. Holy shit is the difference night and day. I've took it out on a local farm pond yesterday and I'm beyond impressed. The sundolphin was like riding a wet log in comparison. I went after largemouth and caught a few drinks, a 2 lber and a 3 lber. I was having trouble with the rudder popping back up when using the controls. I'll have to try to Google it and figure that out. But beyond that it was amazing. Now I just need my bed extender to get her so I can go up to Hennessey. I might hike up to Lake Marie in Napa while I wait. Anyone want to go?

Did you pull the rudder down line all the way and then secure it to the cleat on the side?  Not sure what it looks like on an outback, but on my revo its located by the side mesh pocket.  That should prevent your rudder from popping back up.  Congrats on your new ride.

What Smokey said about the cleat that's on the side to attach the line.

Welcome to the dark side.  Use the cleat to secure your rudder line!

Not sure about the Outback but the Revolution has a cleat to hold the rudder down line taught so the rudder stays down.

So you're saying that this guy is in pretty good company.

Story checks out.
