I hear the crate lives matter group is pushing for prosecution. "It doesnt matter that the crate was at the dump or abandoned in a field. All Crate Lives Matter." In a related story Colin Kapernick  was seen sitting on a crate on the sidelines in solidarity with the group.

Anybody everything about what it cost the Dairies to purchase those crates how high they have to raise their prices constantly to replace them. Because people think they're free and they're all lazy ass employees refuse to pick them up. The ones I own I purchased from a hardware store thank you
Well check you out on your high moral horse taking a stand on milk-crate gate. You must be so proud of yourself.
yes I seriously do, and if you worked for a company for over 10 years that could not give you a raise because of equipment theft, you might too.Why It's Illegal to Use Milk Crates for Anything Besides Milk - Modern ...

NOT to piss on your parade but I have a vast collection of them, recycling bins as well from all over the country.... as a forcibly retired garbageman of 17years once it's in the company container it no longer stealing for the operator to remove it. I also have street signs, license plates and several friends in law enforcement that have confirmed there not in my possession illegally. They weren't stolen BTW the GROCERY STORE MANAGER GOT TIRED OF MOVING THEM, and tossed them in the trash after repeatedly requesting they get picked up.

I don't think many people actually go out and steal milk crates from stores. Like my self, i got mine from a friend who just had them sitting in his garage. I saw them and said ,"Hey man those crates would work great in my kayak, I'll trade you a couple joints for them" Those crates are everywhere bro. In fact, I would go so far as to say that they are polluting our streets and that by re-purposing them, we are doing they world a favor. I'm sorry you didn't get that raise but i think its lame that the company tried to blame it on thievery. My guess is they just needed an excuse to not give people raises or perhaps the price of milk was too low or maybe the CEO just wanted to keep the money for himself and the stockholders.

Seriously VK  :smt044 go back a couple years 2009-2010 the slightest rebuttal from me and we could easily hit 20 Tote just cracked a cold one and is already thinking of a smart ass response, if Craig and Mr. Loleta Eric get on board its guaranteed to surpass 20.
First let me refer back to first comment about lazy-ass employees that refuse to do there job like pick up. Did the company knock on your door and beg you to come to work, so now your privileged and can do what you want. Or did you did agree to do a job for a set amount now you don't think your paid enough to do it.
I'm mean just food for thought and this could go on for days (some body else stole it so now its ok for me to own it ) (if its thrown in the garbage its public property) HMMM what if it was your new I 7 that a tweeker stole and then dropped in the trash , I guess you don't have a right to it anymore.
 :smt044
See this is why someone should just take me fishing, can't stop when there is an argument for everything and so many can self justify.
Also a side note there are numerous co. that have gone out of business and they don't care about their equipment I'm sure some diligent person could compile a list.
@ Kayakjack  :smt007 love everything you do . not that it maters now but they did open their books to the union and showed high enough losses due to reequipping that we were happy to have jobs( later went bankrupt due to poor management)

Guess what your Kayak is made of???

In addition to the dairy industry, bakeries, soda companies and other businesses that use reusable plastic containers experience significant theft. Milk crates are made of petroleum-derived high-density polyethylene, and their price rises and falls with the price of oil. Incentive to steal milk crates rises and falls in sync, and the various industries affected have worked together to fix the problem.

In Baltimore, a coalition of beverage companies and bakeries hired a private investigator to assist law enforcement in pursing organized milk crate rustling, according to the Wall Street Journal article. The Maryland state legislature has also responded, passing two bills that make it harder to sell stolen milk crates to plastics recyclers and beef up penalties for first-time misuse, trafficking or destruction of milk crates to up to 1 year in prison or a fine of up to $1,000.

“It’s an enormously serious problem,” says Detlefsen. “We haven’t been able to figure out a good or effective way to eliminate [theft].”
Ok I'm done no more ranting I have to go back to work so I can stay ahead of my employees yea I'm a little pissy( Thankyou Employees)

Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria (December 1, 1949 – December 2, 1993) was a Colombian dairy lord and milk crate trafficker. His cartel, at the height of his career, supplied an estimated 80% of the milk crates smuggled into the United States, turning over US $21.9 billion a year in personal income.[2][3] Often called "The King of Crates", he was the wealthiest criminal in history, with an estimated known net worth of US $30 billion by the early 1990s,[4] making him one of the richest men in the world at his prime.[5][6]

I'm willing to eat some crow ..I'll just offer this

1. Yes stealing is stealing

2. Most if not all the comments more than likely ( ahem) were probably made out of naivety.

3. You have documented that there is indeed a problem with facts and figures . Tough to argue facts

And lastly but not least

4. Thanks for being willing  to stand your ground .

And I have been waiting to add this last part....... wait for it
When i married my wife and moved into her home I found that she had 2 milk crates left over from when she owned a restaurant. She claimed they were given to her from the driver and they are free. So this is an old argument for me and it bugs the hell out of me, she won't allow me to return them. Even after I went out and purchased some. :smt013 It's her house I'm just a renter :smt009
