I used to fish for bass heavily before I got into kayaking. I love using finesse Bass fishing my go to are roboworm MMIII 6" with Gomagatsu hooks, Cranking is Speed Trap and lipless crank bait. I love spinners on Summer.

What are your go to? I also like (love) clear lake, wondering if anyone can recommend closer to SF. :smt002

Thanks,

I love throwing 3/4 football jigs and shakey head. Got sick of paying for shakey heads so I started pouring them.

2 weeks ago at Clear Lake a white KVD spinnerbait absolutely tore the bass a new one.
I also fish the Senko a lot.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Baby brush hog.  No wrong way to fish this thing.  I can jig it, slow crawl it on the bottom, swim it, pop it like a frog  off the bank or Lilly pads, rip it fast, it depends on how the bass are feeding that day.  The best seems to cast it into deeper water, no weight, and let it slowly sink, giving it a twitch or two along the way.

I buy 'em 4 for a dollar and get 100 at a time from eBay.  A $25 bag will last a year or so.

My go-to bass lures:

1) Reaction Innovations flirt worm on a shaky head (any natural looking color). This one is great for spotted bass.

2) Rattle Trap (or equivalent) in a baitfish immigrating color.

3) Senko (green pumpkin) rigged weedless/weightless

Just messing with ya,my go to (confidence bait)1/4 Oz blk, brwn, red jig with rattle, with blk/red zoom superchunk trailer.in current or too windy I go heavier to 3/8.

Senko watermelon red/blk flake
Blk blue flake in 6" and 7"

Spinner bait any color as long as it's chartreuse

I don't crank much but the rare times that I do its anything with a square bill
